Blog Post 5.11.12 (Night Flood- Photo Challenge)

I think sometimes I am just drawn to see if I can capture something specific in a photograph.  If it seems difficult it just makes me try to figure out how to do it.

The other night it was raining really hard, and the drive at our apartment complex had water rushing over it.  I really wanted to capture that so I could share it.  I didn’t really feel like going out in the rain and covering up the camera, so I set up the tripod right inside my window and I pretty much just did a long exposure.

Daily Photo 1.15.11 (Capturing Rain Drops)

My goal on this ugly rainy day was to photograph rain drops.  I tried to capture them, “freezing” them in time.  This was tough, and I don’t think they came out great.  The hard part was focusing on where the drops were falling.  Also I didn’t want to get my camera wet!  I know what to do now, but it got dark early so I was not able to try it.  Maybe tomorrow (since there is more rain in the forecast).  Here’s 4 of my shots.

My Daily Photo- Top 10…HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well, I started my Daily Photo Blog at the beginning of 2010, hoping that I learn more about photography, learn my camera and I think I have done that.  I do notice an improvement from the beginning of the year, and now when I want to take a specific photograph, technically- I kinda know what I am doing! 🙂

I wish all of you a very Happy New Year!  I hope you all set goals and reach them (even surpass them!).  I set some goals each year and I try really hard to accomplish them.  Sometimes I feel that just by having some of my goals on my blog, or on Facebook, it helps me, because I feel like “I told the world, so now I have to do it!”

Here are my top 10, as chosen by friends, family, comments, views & myself:

Daily Photo 6.22.10 (Re-worked Old Photo)

I attended one of my photography Meet-up groups last night- “The Gathering of Photographers”, and someone suggested I try cropping this photo.  I like the idea, it’s the most interesting part of the photo and I was not crazy about the top part.  Let me know your thoughts!

Daily Photo 9.11.10 (Rain Drops-Black & White)

I did not get a chance to photograph today (It was a painting day), so I thought I would work on a photo from a few days ago.  I was looking for something that I could do black & white (I love that about digital!) Here’s some of the rain drops on my porch from the big “flooding” rain we had a few days ago!
