Daily Photo 2.17.11 (Moon with Clouds)

I always find challenging photos the most fun.  It’s almost like, I want to see if I can get it.  I love photographing the moon, and there were plenty of clouds so I had to wait till there was a break.  I amazingly only took 20 photos to get this one (the clouds were moving fast!).  I don’t know if I could have gotten any more detail in the moon without loosing the clouds.  I am pretty happy with it.

Daily Photo 1.1.11 (Happy New Year! Fireworks!)

Tough choice, I had so many good ones, but here’s my favorites!  I love the reflection in the 360 Condos! (The tall building next to the fireworks)

My Daily Photo- Top 10…HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well, I started my Daily Photo Blog at the beginning of 2010, hoping that I learn more about photography, learn my camera and I think I have done that.  I do notice an improvement from the beginning of the year, and now when I want to take a specific photograph, technically- I kinda know what I am doing! 🙂

I wish all of you a very Happy New Year!  I hope you all set goals and reach them (even surpass them!).  I set some goals each year and I try really hard to accomplish them.  Sometimes I feel that just by having some of my goals on my blog, or on Facebook, it helps me, because I feel like “I told the world, so now I have to do it!”

Here are my top 10, as chosen by friends, family, comments, views & myself:

Daily Photo 12.23.10 (Zilker Christmas Tree)

Finally made it out to shoot the Zilker Park Christmas tree.  We are lucky that at least they kept the tree this year, since they did not have the Trail of Lights, or lights on Congress Avenue.  I had a lot of fun just playing around with the camera.  Here’s a few of my favorites. (By the way, the tree will be up through December 31st)

Daily Photo 12.17.10 (Downtown Austin)

I went on a photo walk last night organized by Austin photographer Alex Suarez (thanks Alex!).  There really didn’t seem to be much as far as Christmas lights, but I managed to find some things to photograph.  By the way, what’s up with no Christmas lights over Congress Avenue, Austin??

Here are my favorite photos from last night. The first 3 are a window display and the last is the Austonian building with the clouds and moon.  It looked awesome!

Daily Photo 12.13.10 (Christmas Tree)

I decided to try and photograph some of the ornaments on my tree.  Well, I also photographed my entire tree, but I was not very happy with it, mostly I would need to move it so it would be in a better location, but not worth it.  There are 2 of my favorites.

Daily Photo 12.10.10 (Carnival at Night)

My daughter and I went out tonight to shoot some carnival photos.  Also a chance for her to learn her new Canon 50d.  We went armed with my tripod and an extra lens and got some good stuff!  I think this is one of my favorites.

Daily Photo 12.5.10 (Holiday Window)

Last night was the Holiday Stroll in Downtown Austin, and it was wonderful!  Christmas carols, shops open late, Christmas activities, art receptions, etc.  This is a photo of a window decorated for the holidays with paper snow flakes.  It was simple, and I love the way they had the light shining through it.

Daily Photo 12.3.10 (My new creation!)

Finally! I have been trying to work on this for months, and it has been one obstacle after another, but I finally finished one of them.  It’s my Luminescent Lamp, a small version of my Luminescent Vines, which was part of the Collaborative Project I did with friends back in August (it is at Authenticity right now).  I finished this one just in time to take it to Authenticity Gallery for tomorrow night’s Holiday Sing-along and Downtown Stroll.  Let me know what you think!  I plan on doing several more in varying sizes & shapes.
