I decided I need to take advantage of the really cool camera apps on my EVO phone. Sometimes it feels like I am not taking a “real” photo, because it’s with my phone, but the effects I can get are just amazing, and it takes my creativeness in a whole new direction. Tonight we were walking on the bridge over Town Lake (Lady Bird Lake), and I thought I would use different apps to photograph the empty bridge. These are my 2 favorites.

Daily Photo 2.4.11 (Snow Day- Austin)

I was so glad I did not have to go into work today. It sounded dangerous out there to drive, but then we decided to take a walk and shoot some photos. When I stepped outside, it was cold but sunny, and for just a bit I thought “oh, maybe it’s not that bad”. But then we got to the street right outside our complex, and they had 17 cars on the side of the road that could not go anywhere. They slid into each other on a big patch of ice right outside our driveway! So I was VERY happy I did not have to drive anywhere.

Here are some of my favorite shots from today. I will start with the mess on our street.

I had a great day wandering around Town Lake (Lady Bird Lake) with my daughter and taking photos. My CF card was full, so I could not use my camera! (I let her borrow my card and have not gotten it back yet), so I used my EVO to take some photos. I downloaded the FX Camera for Android and Retro Camera for Android and I really like some of the photos I came up with! Here’s a few. (Don’t the photos of the abandoned building look like a torture chamber?)

Daily Photo 7.9.10 (Almost Sunset at The Oasis)

We were at the Oasis tonight for my daughter’s Birthday Party #1 (she is planning on partying all weekend!) We went to listen to the Eggmen, a Beatles cover band. They are so much fun! I definitely recommend them! It was a bit cloudy after this shot, so this is the best “sunset” photo I could get!

I went with my friend John Bittick to check out The Oasis Restaurant, for an art venue, and took a few photos while I was there. The place is just amazing, and the view is gorgeous. If you have never been there you should check it out. It’s a great spot to check out the sunset!

This photo I took a few weeks back but I would like to share it. I always wanted to take “fog” photos, and this was a good day for it! I do need to research the best camera settings for taking photos in the fog. I did increase the saturation a little bit to bring out the colors of the trees. Let me know if you have any suggestions!
