Here are the latest in my daily painting challenge. Numbers 17 & 18 I have been working on for a while, but I think I finally finished them. Also had a hard time photographing #17 so I will need to go get it scanned. Number 18 is a large version of a small 6″x12″ painting I had done several months back. I really liked it so I wanted to try a larger version of it. I am not as happy with the large version for some reason.
Numbers 20, 21 & 22 I did while on a trip to the beach. I did not want to take my paints down there so I took my Aquatone Watercolor sticks. I love those things! I did have to play with them and did several versions before I ended up with these three. They were fun!

Well, 8 more paintings to go!!! I guess I should make a trip to the studio…
I love getting photos from collectors of my paintings, so I can see how my work is adorning their home. This photo I just LOVE!!
Nature Reborn- at home
He had an older painting of mine in there first, but when he got some flowers to decorate the space, he felt my “Nature Reborn” painting would work well with the flowers! I also love the artistic shot he took! (You can see my painting in the background)
I was out in the Texas Hill Country last week at an Art Workshop. I came across this cactus with these beautiful blossoms! They just jumped out! I took this with my phone camera. I decided not to take my Canon, because I wanted to concentrate on painting, and not photographing! (But I could not help myself with this one!).
I took this photo at the Zilker Botanical Gardens of the water lilies right at the entrance. They are just beautiful right now! It was pretty bright (middle of the afternoon), so I tried different photo apps on my Evo. I think this was my favorite, it was with Vignette for Android. Right now I do not remember what setting it was in, I wish I did, but I guess that makes it one of a kind! 🙂
My goal today was to take a photo of something romantic, something “Valentine’s Day” like. Of course this red rose is perfect. I took a couple of shots, some outside in the light and some indoors in a room that was getting dark. This turned out to be my favorite. It’s the indoor version, much more dramatic than the well lit one!
I could not resist! Perfect opportunity, but very challenging. Here’s 2 versions. I was trying to get the web, but when I did a longer exposure and used a flashlight to light the web, it came out good but the spider was out of focus. The breeze was moving the spider too much. I still like these though.
Got another bloom! This time I had fun playing with my tripod (my Manfrotto 055XPROB w/a Giottos MH 5001 head). I had my camera balancing over the balcony edge to get the bloom. Fun! I love my tripod! I will post a photo of me and my tripod in a bit on my Facebook Page if you are interested. That is not a great shot (night shot done with a cell phone camera- non-iphone! 🙂 )
I got it! I was ready for my Night Blooming Cereus this time. It looks like I have 2 more buds ready to bloom. These do seem kind of small, but I am assuming that it’s because the plants are in small containers. Of course I had to use my new 50mm f/1.4 lens! 🙂
