I thought I would see if I can do a post completely from my phone. So far so good! This is a photo I took with my EVO, edited with PhotoShop express, on my phone. This is the Ballet Folklorico performing at the Interfaith Art & Music Festival.
I attended the Arthouse at the Jones Center Grand Re-Opening- “Artist Sneak Peek”. They did a fabulous job with the architecture! Also, the rooftop is amazing! It’s going to be a great place for artists and art lovers here in Austin. I almost forgot I had a great camera on my Evo! Here’s a few photos from tonight.
I lit my John Lennon candle in honor of what would have been his 70th Birthday today. Yes, I have a John Lennon candle! Thanks to my artist friend Bill Stidham. Check out his fabulous artwork (specially his “Sacred Heart” Series) on his website, or go see him if you are at ACL!
Being free museum day, we went to the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum. We were lucky enough to be there between soaking rain storms! I managed to snap this photo between drizzle. It was so beautiful there, and gorgeous sculptures!
I love photographing kids! I guess it comes from following my own kids with a camera when they were little. My daughter said that I was getting her ready for when she would be famous, so she could handle the paparazzi! 🙂 I took these photos at my niece’s son’s birthday party.
My friend Kay Hughes had the reception for her encaustic “Black & White and Vintage Cars Art Exhibit” yesterday at Fair Bean Coffee on S. 1st St.. The show is just fabulous, if you get a chance to go see it, it will be up through July 5th. Also take a look at her work on her website Knott Garden Art! Here’s a couple of photos from the reception.
You can hear the thundering noise all through downtown! Hundreds of motorcycles have descended on Austin! What a photo op! (of course!) 🙂 I will post some of the photos tonight and the rest in the next couple of days.
