Blog Post 12.26.11(Painting Progress- 3rd layer)

I added another layer to my painting today.  I was not happy with what was happening when I mixed my own purple, once I added alcohol or it was watered down (done on another piece).  So I added some already mixed violet color to add a bit of a different color.  also added more blue, black and gold drops.  Here is a shot with some of the up-close details also.  I just LOVE the details!!

Daily thought! (and surprise for reading the post)

Well, I had a super busy and interesting night.  I went to my art group meeting (Creative Arts Society), and I guess you could say I was the group “guinea pig”! But in a good way.  Our speaker was Richard Cutler, who is an art and radio-film-tv professor, who does creative consulting for artists.  He used my work as an example, to evaluate and give me guidance and his thoughts.  Wow! It was so interesting!  It’s amazing how everything that happens in our lives shows up in your artwork!  I kept thinking “if he only knew my life story he would freak out!”  It was tons of information, that I am sure it will take several days to decipher.  I had no idea how he would explain my “wide array and variety” of work, but somehow he found some things that made me realize why I am attracted to certain types of paintings or photos.  Needless to say, I did not have time to shoot any photos.  But I sure have lots to think about.  On top of it, I did get lots of good feedback on my work, from him and the other artists in the group.  So I guess it was a pretty good night.  Now, it’s time for bed, I am wiped out!

Well, just for reading this post, I’ll post one of my favorite photos that got very positive comments at the meeting.  This one actually made it into a photo show in Colorado once! I am pretty proud of it!
