I was out in the Texas Hill Country last week at an Art Workshop. I came across this cactus with these beautiful blossoms! They just jumped out! I took this with my phone camera. I decided not to take my Canon, because I wanted to concentrate on painting, and not photographing! (But I could not help myself with this one!).
Today I had the urge to play with my camera. I thought I would take photos at both extremes of the apertures! I like the different effects you get from both ends. Love the star burst shape from the f/22, and the bokeh from the f/1.4. Here’s what I got! (And thank you to my hubby for posing for me!!!) 🙂
Well, this is my “Art Studio”. My balcony is the best space I have found lately to paint at home. Yes, it has been over 100 degrees, but it’s amazing how I don’t notice it while I am painting. I guess that’s a good and bad thing. The painting I am working on here is my latest abstract piece. It’s not finished yet, it may evolve some more, but this is the 1st stage I am happy with so far. I am reading “Painting Abstracts” by Rolina van Vliet, and exercise 19 (painting in low-key) has been a tough one for me! But I think I like the challenge! I feel it makes it worth the work! Once I officially finish the piece I will post a photo.
This has to be one of the cutest most photographed little boys ever! (yes, his mom follows him with a camera also.) He came over to hang out and swim at the pool. I love photographing little kids. They are just being themselves, so if you are willing to spend a little time and take quite a few shots you will get amazing photos, just about every time!
I love photographing kids! I guess it comes from following my own kids with a camera when they were little. My daughter said that I was getting her ready for when she would be famous, so she could handle the paparazzi! 🙂 I took these photos at my niece’s son’s birthday party.
What a difference in three hours! I think we got 2-3 inches of rain at out place today! We definitely needed it! Here’s a photo during and after the rain.
Another day at home trying to figure out what to photograph. It was still light, so I went out on my porch and took a few photos. I love this little plant. My Ice Plant, it just adds a punch of color, and you can really ignore it!
I was very excited to get this shot. I think the dragonfly was posing for me, it was just hanging out until I was done! (I love my camera!!!)
The pool sure looked good today! I think it’s about time to take a dip in it!!!
