Inspiration comes from all over!!
I just became a grandmother for the first time, and Mom & Dad wanted to get dinosaur things for the baby’s room. Dinosaur kid things are not that easy to find! Also I decided that he just had to have some original paintings from his grandmother, so I decided to paint a series of dinosaurs. This is one of the paintings from my “Paxton’s Dinos” Series.
I really like the way they came out! They are playful & bright!
I decided I will sell prints of them, since the originals obviously belong to Paxton! I will be posting the series on my website shortly with prices for the prints.
I did giraffes a few months back that came out really cute also…
This got me thinking about making different animals also, so I will have a whole children’s line of paintings! Stay tuned!
I got to check out the amazing cows done by some local Austin artists for Cow Parade Austin. CowParade Austin is proud to partner with the City of Austin and the Children’s Medical Center Foundation to benefit Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas and Superhero Kids Fund. You can go see them right now at the Long Center (not sure how long they will be there). I got to photograph almost all the cows, but I realized I missed one of my friends cows! I have them all posted on my Facebook page (and will add my friends cow when I get the photo! 🙂 )
I thought I would have a bit of fun with my photo today. I am not sure I was all that productive today, but it was 80 degrees in January here in Austin, Texas. I refused to turn on the air conditioner, so all that was left to do in the afternoon was to hang out on my front porch!
Well, I started my Daily Photo Blog at the beginning of 2010, hoping that I learn more about photography, learn my camera and I think I have done that. I do notice an improvement from the beginning of the year, and now when I want to take a specific photograph, technically- I kinda know what I am doing! 🙂
I wish all of you a very Happy New Year! I hope you all set goals and reach them (even surpass them!). I set some goals each year and I try really hard to accomplish them. Sometimes I feel that just by having some of my goals on my blog, or on Facebook, it helps me, because I feel like “I told the world, so now I have to do it!”
Here are my top 10, as chosen by friends, family, comments, views & myself:
I decided to try and photograph some of the ornaments on my tree. Well, I also photographed my entire tree, but I was not very happy with it, mostly I would need to move it so it would be in a better location, but not worth it. There are 2 of my favorites.
I was waiting (forever) to pull out of a parking lot and I had to take this photo. Taken with my Evo, the RetroCamera App. The corner of S, 1st and Barton Springs Rd. seems to be the place for birds! (eek!)
Well, finally slowed down enough to play with the new lens. My cat is always happy to pose for a photo! I was sizing the photo and my husband suggested that it would look great in black & white, so here it is!!!
I was at our Church this evening and got to see the latest little inhabitant on the grounds. They noticed this little hummingbird in its nest about a week ago. It’s been sitting and guarding the nest very carefully. We assume there are eggs in there. I will keep up with it and post updates if there are baby hummingbirds at some point! I just can’t imagine how tiny those things would be!
